Dear Tanya,
I will soon notify you about the all details of course timing.
What concerns me now is that the final version of our website is not launched yet.
I need, on the other hand, to discuss the time and the cost with the management.
Briefly speaking, the course will cover the following details:
Interpreting:
• Introduction to interpreting
• Historical overview of interpreting
• Pragmatics and Interpreting
• Accuracy and Equivalence
• Ethics of the Profession and the role of interpreter
• Interpreting research
Translation:
• Translation Equivalence at Word and Phrase Level
• Translation Equivalence at Sentence Level
• Translation Equivalence at text Level
• Putting translation theory into practice
• Research directions in translation
• Bilingual lexicography
The course will be in English. Reading materials are to be provided. Completing assignments are required.
The course could be one unit, or two units based on the time availability of students.
We will arrange a secure forum to discuss relevant issues and email group for participants.
