عجيب شاعرنا المُجيد أن تتوجه قلوبنا للوطن، فيصبح للوطن مأوى في قلوب محبيه، الذين يبحثون عن وجود مادي له، بينما نحن نسيح في أرض الله -مادياً ومعنويا- ونغترب فيها، ولا نجد لهذا الوطن أثراً.
فلعل غربتنا المعنوية -ونحن نستعر بحرِّ أوطاننا المادية- ونحيا مختلطين بأفراحه وأتراحه ننسى أنه يسكن فينا، حتى حين لا نسكن نحن فيه.
وكما تعلم أستاذنا الشاعر أنه حين يقتفي الكون أثرك، وتظل تبحث أنت عن هذا الوطن الذي قد يكون تنكر لك، يصدق قول القائل: ما من نبي في قومه. وكذا زمَّار الحي لا يطرب. ولعل في رحابة الكون، والسياحة في الأرض أُذُنٌ عالمية تستمع لإنشادك ونداءاتك، وإن زادت من مواجعك وآلامك.
