The theme of the Lima Conference, “Translation, Identity and Heterogeneity,” takes on a special urgency today because communication, language, and translation have found new frames of reference in a post-modern world characterized by globalization, immigration, and localization. The Lima Conference will explore many aspects of this theme, including translation and minority languages, translation and the emergence of new languages (creoles, pidgens, street-languages), translation and boundaries, translation and inner cultural space, translation and cultural mediation, translation and the politics of language, to mention just some of the more obvious topics. Please submit proposals in the language of your choice no later than April, 30, 2006, as an email attachment to:
Email: RHodgson@americanbible.org
Web: http://www.nidainstitute.org/Conferences/
