اقترح كثير من المشتغلين في مجال العربية والترجمة كلمة "رائج" ترجمةً ل: trend وأضاف بعضهم "الأدْول" و "الأحدوثة" و"مُتصدر" و"رائج" و"سائد" و"متداول" و"ذائع" لكن مجمع اللغة العربية في القاهرة اعترض على ذلك وأجاز استعمال: "ترند" كهذا مُنقخرةً وجَمَعَها على ترندات
